The Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Estimator to join our dynamic team at Clarendon Homes, Loganholme. As a Production Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects, contributing to the planning and execution phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and estimate the costs associated with residential construction projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Check tenders, contract drawings, engineering plans, details, and colour schedules for consistency.
  • Produce bills of quantities and purchase orders.
  • Develop accurate bill of quantities for materials, labour, and other project expenses to facilitate budget planning and project feasibility analysis.
  • Engage with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favourable terms to optimize project profitability.
  • Generate purchase orders for allocation to selected trades/suppliers along with generation of budget orders for reference by the Project manager.
  • Calculate preliminary profit margin and monitor project expenses to ensure compliance with approved budgets while proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to evaluate project requirements, specifications, and scope.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the drafting team, project managers, contractors, and customer service consultants to streamline communication and ensure project success.
  • Maintain meticulous records of estimates, contracts, and relevant project documents.
  • Stay updated on estimating software and techniques.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Residential Building or Diploma in Building Studies or Diploma in Estimating/Quantity Surveying (desired).
  • Minimum of 2 years in a Production estimating role within a residential project home environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and attention to details.
  • Proficient in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
