About the Role

This dynamic opportunity offers diverse responsibilities, fosters collaboration across multiple practice areas, and provides a unique chance to develop core government legal skills and expand your development—while being part of a fast-paced and supportive team environment.

As a versatile and motivated senior lawyer, you will work closely with other senior lawyers as well as autonomously to guide legal strategy and policy. You will also undertake administrative activities and research allocated within established standards, procedures, policies and delegations.

  • Guide legal strategy and policy in collaboration with other senior lawyers;
  • Undertake administrative activities and research within established standards, procedures, policies and delegations;
  • Assist with a wide range of civil, anti-discrimination and commercial related requests for advice, as well as with claims, disputes and agreements;
  • Work closely with Director to review, prepare and negotiate a wide range of agreements and advise on a diverse range of matters;
  • Coordinate sensitive legal communications with precision, ensuring confidentiality and high standards of accuracy across all documentation;
  • Support the progression of briefing notes and related materials;
  • Provide complex advice on CSNSW operations, including on regulatory and strategic matters.
Key Requirements
  • Existing experience in statutory interpretation, ICAC, SafeWork, public interest disclosure, privacy and GIPA, or other regulatory compliance;
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to proactively and rapidly acquire the required knowledge;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide sound legal advice;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
