About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to work on the Marine Intake works for the D&C Belmont Desal Project in Newcastle.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer looking to expand their skillset and contribute to a complex infrastructure project.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in project delivery and tender management. They will be responsible for coordinating and administering construction engineering activities, ensuring that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure projects are implemented according to plan.
- Undertake cost controlling, budgeting, forecasting, subcontract claim review, and commercial negotiation activities.
- Monitor construction progress for adherence to program and report to the Area Manager.
- Provide technical and other support to Supervisors and sub-contractors, including liaison with consultants to ensure safety, time, cost, and quality objectives are optimized.
- Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects.
- Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
- Assist in the planning, procurement, and delivery of various supplier packages.
- Exercise professional judgement in resolving engineering issues, i.e. Construction methods, design, engineering procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Project Engineer and operational experience.
- Previous experience working on infrastructure projects $100m+.
- Experience in FRP construction, including Temporary Works.
- Previous experience in Water Infrastructure & Marine construction, highly desirable.
- Project delivery and tender experience.
- Ability to work well with various stakeholders and build strong relationships.
- A can-do attitude with a hands-on approach.
- Effective team-player capabilities.
