About the Opportunity

This role is accountable for the provision of exceptional service to clients and the proficient assessment of life claims in accordance with TAL's claims philosophy, claims procedures, and policy wording.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all communication with clients relating to the management of their claim, ensuring timely and empathetic responses.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to administrators, clients, and claimants, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Assess and investigate new and existing claims within agreed service standards, adhering to claims philosophy, policy wording, and claims procedures.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of non-disclosure and financials for underwritten claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and implement individual management plans for all claims, recording actions and progress.
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers, monitoring their performance and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Authorize payment of third-party provider accounts, ensuring compliance with delegation of authority.
  • Calculate claim payments, obtaining necessary sign-offs and ensuring timely payment in accordance with service standards.
  • Manage reinsurance referrals and administration processes, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Prepare file synopses as required, providing concise and accurate summaries.
  • Peer review cases of other team members, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives as directed, contributing to the growth and development of the team.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position involving life/lump sum/trauma/critical illness/injury/TPD or death claims.
  • Group claims case assessing/management experience is highly desirable.
  • Legal experience relating to personal injury or TPD and Workers Compensation is viewed favorably.
  • Ability to build rapport and empathy with customers during difficult times, providing exceptional support and guidance.
  • Passionate and driven individual with a natural willingness to continue learning and growing.
