Orthopaedic Surgery Registrar Role

Norwest Private Hospital is a leading healthcare provider in Sydney, committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team as a registrar. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for providing surgical assistance skills in the operating theatre to support visiting medical officers (VMOs).

You will review patients in the emergency department and intensive care unit as required by and under the supervision of VMOs during business hours. You will also review inpatients pre and post-operatively at the request of VMOs during business hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide surgical assistant skills in the operating theatre to support VMOs.
  • Review patients in the emergency department and intensive care unit as required.
  • Review inpatients pre and post-operatively at the request of VMOs.
  • Participate in orthopaedic department meetings.
  • Participate in clinical teaching opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A minimum of 12 months' experience in specialty.
  • Recent experience working in Australia.
