The Role

We are seeking a talented and versatile Network Security Specialist to join our team. This role requires a blend of hardware configuration and security controls implementation along with an understanding of Cyber Security Risk Management, controls frameworks for risk assessment, and controls scoping.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network hardware systems and security architecture and engineering concepts, enabling them to effectively design, implement, and maintain robust, efficient, and secure solutions.

In your day-to-day work, you will:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and test hardware components.
  • Conduct architecture reviews for complex hardware systems, including infrastructure/servers and network devices such as routers/switches/Firewalls.
  • Conduct configuration benchmarking and hardening for devices/servers/cloud platforms.
  • Work with the team to design new network solutions.
  • Conduct security assessments and gap analysis against industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks). Develop remediation plans to address identified vulnerabilities. Monitor and report on security posture.
Requirements

We are ideally seeking:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and Industry Security qualifications (e.g., CISSP).
  • Cyber Risk management and Framework implementation (ISO27001, CIS, NIST).
  • Extensive knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, routing, switching, etc.).
  • OSI 7 Layer model.
  • Experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (both AWS and Azure).
  • Solid understanding of operating system fundamentals and configuration, Windows and Linux.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
