Risk Management Professional

Hastings Deering seeks a highly skilled Risk and Assurance Specialist to join its Safety team in Brisbane.

This permanent, full-time role plays a critical part in the development, implementation, and continual improvement of integrated Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver clear and actionable reports from audits and due diligence activities.
  • Maintain certified HSEQ systems across all subsidiaries.
  • Monitor and update compliance frameworks in line with legislative changes.
  • Validate and maintain risk profiles within HSEQ systems.
  • Document initiatives that improve operational performance and efficiency.
About You:
  • Tertiary or vocational qualifications in Health, Safety, Environment, or a related field are required.
  • A minimum 10 years' experience in HSEQ roles, with a strong focus on auditing and compliance, is necessary.
  • Certified Lead Auditor in HSEQ Management Systems is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks is essential.
  • Experience engaging with regulators and external audit providers is valuable.
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management systems is beneficial.
  • Industry experience in mining, manufacturing, or heavy equipment is desirable.

As a subject matter expert, you will drive compliance through internal audits and contribute to risk management initiatives, ensuring alignment with ISO standards and strategic goals.
