Bentley Systems is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Naval Architect to join the offshore design team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining offshore software products, including numerical algorithms for offshore engineering, general mathematical calculations, and mentoring a team of programmers implementing engineering design modules for Bentley's MOSES product.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, and documenting numerical algorithms for engineering and mathematical calculations in the software. This includes troubleshooting engineering design modules to support the technical support group and developing advanced hydrodynamic analysis software used in cross-products.
Responsibilities- Design and develop numerical algorithms for engineering and mathematical calculations in the software.
- Program and document the developed algorithms.
- Troubleshoot engineering design modules to support the technical support group.
- Develop advanced hydrodynamic analysis software used in cross-products.
- Advanced degree in Naval Architecture, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or relevant experience.
- Advanced programming skills in FORTRAN.
- Advanced understanding of Hydrodynamics.
- Experience in developing software using Intel FORTRAN and object-oriented programming.
- Excellent sense of logic and engineering workflow.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience with hydrodynamic design and analysis tools (e.g., MOSES, SESAM, Orcaflex, NEMOH).
- Knowledge of aero-elastic wind turbine solvers (Bladed, OpenFAST).
- Experience with 3D static/dynamic analysis, finite element methods, direct/iterative solvers, sparse Eigen solvers.
- Experience with Oil & Gas offshore floating structures and offshore renewable energy industry.
- Programming in C#, C++, Python.
- Experience with Excel/Macros, MathCAD, MATLAB.
- Experience with Agile software development.
- Experience in multi-threaded software development (parallel programming for multi-core CPU/GPU).
