Diesel Fitter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Fitter to join our team at Skilled Jobs Australia. As a Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical repair, including analysing, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, plant equipment, and machinery
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic components of diesel-powered attachments
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble parts/components
  • Use oxy, electric, TIG, and MIG welding techniques to fit, replace, assemble, and repair metal parts
  • Test repaired parts for proper performance
  • Test and repair basic electrical circuits
  • Use computers and specialized tools to diagnose and repair faults
  • Inspect equipment and machinery for faults
  • Follow workplace Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) protocols
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications (at least Cert III) in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent
  • Trained and relevant experience in the trade
  • Diagnostic skills
  • Able to demonstrate efficient work practices
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Hydraulics/Pneumatic experience will be highly regarded

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $70,000-$80,000 per annum + superannuation based on experience. If you are motivated and hardworking and enjoy sharing your knowledge to improve operational efficiency, we want to hear from you.
