Skilled Jobs Australia is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our client's hard-working and dedicated team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical repair, including diagnosing, repairing, fitting and overhauling diesel engines and plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, repairing, fitting and overhauling diesel engines and plant equipment.
  • Maintaining, diagnosing, repairing and fitting hydraulic components of diesel-powered attachments such as pumps and injectors.
  • Dismantling, repairing and reassembling engines, transmissions, steering columns and other components.
  • Using oxy, electric, TIG and MIG welding techniques to fit, replace, assemble and repair metal parts including fabrication of parts, machinery and other equipment.
  • Diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicle fuel injections systems.
  • Testing repaired parts for proper performance.
  • Testing and repairing basic electrical circuits.
  • Using computers and specialized tools to diagnose and repair faults.
  • Inspecting vehicles and machinery for faults.
  • Following workplace Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) protocols.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications (at least Cert Ill) in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent, or a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
  • Trained and have experience in Diesel Fuel injection repairs.
  • Experience to disassemble, clean and inspect pumps and injectors.
  • Repair, service and calibrate components.
  • Diagnostic Skills.
  • Able to demonstrate efficient work practices.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hydraulics/Pneumatic experience will be highly regarded.

What We Offer

This is a full-time position with salary range of $75,000 to $95,000 pa based on experience+ superannuation.
