Job Title: Emergency Department Consultant

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced emergency medicine professional to provide comprehensive, effective, and efficient medical care in the emergency department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the clinical team and facilitate effective clinical review mechanisms and quality improvement processes.
  • Deliver and participate in relevant teaching programs for medical officers and other staff attached to the department.
  • Contribute to continuing education programs within the ED.
  • Clinical responsibilities include performing a wide range of procedures and managing paediatric and adult emergencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration in Emergency Medicine (FACEM).
  • Proven track record of experience in clinical emergency medicine in a comparable Australian setting.
  • Demonstrated high level of skill in professional judgement, clinical competence, negotiation, and communication within a multidisciplinary setting.

  • The successful candidate must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups.
