Para-Sport and Classification Advisor

This role involves providing focused classification support to Paralympic athletes, coaches and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement para-sport, classification and impairment related education initiatives for staff, coaches, athletes and stakeholders.
  • Deliver classification insights for talent identification, transfer and performance planning in alignment with stakeholder feedback.
  • Establish allied health provider networks (e.g. prosthetists, occupational therapists) for athlete support.
  • Support athlete preparation for classification (e.g. assistance with Medical Diagnostic Form paperwork).
  • Act as Classifier Support Person for international classification where necessary.
  • Host classification opportunities at facilities.
  • Facilitate a Classifier Community of Practice initiative.
  • Advise on accessibility and universal design principles for sports environments.
About You:
  • Required: experience with classification processes and/or understanding of Para-sports classification procedures.
  • Necessary: working knowledge of performance environments and the ability to work with various stakeholders.
  • Desirable: administrative skills to support process-based functions, education/training experience and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Able to build relationships across different stakeholder groups.
