Water Resources Team Lead

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Water Resources Engineer to lead our team in Queensland, delivering innovative solutions to government and private clients, with a focus on flood risk management and infrastructure design.
About the Role:As a Principal Water Resources Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and growing our Qld Water Resources team, including junior staff and highly experienced professionals. You will conduct a range of water resources projects, including hydrological and hydraulic investigation and design, producing technical models and reports to a high standard.

- Conduct a range of water resources projects, including hydrological and hydraulic investigation and design
- Produce technical models and reports to a high standard, contributing to KBR's reputation for the delivery of quality project outputs
- Build strong relationships with team members, other disciplines, clients, and KBR's leadership team
- Contribute to budgets and plans, management of stakeholders and interaction with regulatory authorities
- 10 – 15 years' recent local experience on projects within the Queensland Reconstruction Authority Flood Risk and Resilience body of works as well as infrastructure design
- Knowledge of the Queensland Flood Risk Management Framework, including up-to-date best practice in flood modelling
- Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local legislation, regulatory frameworks, guidelines and policies, and experience applying it to achieve practical outcomes in the field of water resources in Australia
- Experience in numerical modelling (hydrology, hydraulics and groundwater), including TUFLOW, URBS, RORB, XP-RAFTS, HEC-RAS, MUSIC, GOLDSIM and solid experience with GIS applications (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo)
- Chartered professional engineer (CPEng) or ability to achieve this status in 6 months of starting
- Hold an accredited bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
