Job Title: Relief Hr Driver

This role is ideal for an experienced, adaptable HR driver who enjoys variety and has flexible availability. The successful candidate will cover both planned and unplanned leave, with early starts (between 4:00-7:00am), mostly Monday to Friday, with some weekend and overtime opportunities.

  • Step into various runs and services as needed, providing relief cover across a range of services and routes.
  • Collect commercial waste streams: general waste, cardboard, plastic, bin delivery/removal, biosecurity waste
  • Operate rear lift, front lift, hook lift, tautliner, and skip trucks
  • Complete vehicle safety checks and compliance paperwork
  • Build strong customer relationships
  • Train with experienced drivers, with opportunities to mentor others
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Relieve colleagues on various runs and services as needed, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  2. Collect and dispose of commercial waste streams efficiently, adhering to environmental standards.
  3. Operate diverse vehicle types, including rear lift, front lift, hook lift, tautliner, and skip trucks.
  4. Conduct thorough vehicle safety checks and maintain accurate compliance records.
  5. Foster positive relationships with customers through excellent communication and service skills.
  6. Develop skills through training with experienced drivers, with opportunities to mentor junior team members.

What You'll Bring:
  • At least 2 years' experience driving HR trucks.
  • A valid HR license and a clean driving record.
  • Flexibility and dependability, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of Chain of Responsibility and Fatigue Management principles.
  • Willingness to adapt to different trucks and routes, with a positive attitude towards learning and development.
  • Experience in the waste industry is highly desirable.
