Hospital Security Position

The Blue Mountains ANZAC Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated Security Specialist to join its Security Services team. In this role, you will ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
You will be responsible for responding to incidents, de-escalating challenging situations, and collaborating closely with healthcare teams and NSW Police when needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors by responding to incidents, de-escalating challenging situations, and collaborating closely with healthcare teams and NSW Police when needed.
- Support frontline healthcare professionals by responding to alarms, supervising key areas, and carrying out essential duties that keep our hospital running smoothly.
- Use strong communication skills and a calm, capable approach to foster a harmonious and secure atmosphere for all.
- A valid NSW Security Industries License 1A, in accordance with the Security Industry Act, 1997.
- A nationally recognised current First Aid Certificate or Statement of Attainment from a Registered Training Organisation.
- Experience in the security industry as a Security Officer is desirable.
- Demonstrated skills to manage aggressive incidents, challenging behaviours, and respond to duress situations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and effectively as a member of a team.
- Effective written and oral communication skills to communicate with all levels of staff, patients/clients, and members of the public.
- Participation in a 7 day rotating roster that includes weekends, public and school holidays, including morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
- A current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
