Enforcement Attorney

As a Lawyer in the Markets Enforcement team, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of the financial system and protecting consumers from harm. You will work closely with other teams to identify and investigate suspected market misconduct, and take formal enforcement action where necessary.
Key responsibilities include:
">- Managing complex investigations and projects, including planning and conducting investigative tasks such as analysis of large electronic data sets using specific software, drafting and serving compulsory notices, collecting and reviewing documents.
- Interviewing witnesses and obtaining information, identifying legal issues and providing legal advice in the course of an investigation.
- Compiling briefs of evidence for the Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) and assisting the CDPP to prepare for and conduct criminal prosecutions.
- Supporting ASIC Litigation Counsel in commencing and conducting civil litigation in the Supreme and/or Federal Courts, including briefing and instructing Counsel.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to delivering on ASIC's purpose, vision, and strategic priorities. You will be part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and work closely with senior internal and external stakeholders to achieve strong outcomes that address the greatest consumer and investor harms.
