The Role

We are seeking a commercially focused paralegal or attorney to assist with the prosecution, enforcement and management of national and international trade marks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Docketing management: prioritising and organising trademark applications and deadlines.
  • Conducting trade mark searches: researching existing trademarks to ensure new applications do not infringe on existing rights.
  • Drafting search reports: preparing detailed reports on the results of trade mark searches.
  • Prosecuting trade mark and design applications: working with partners and associates to prepare and file trademark applications.
  • Conducting due diligence: reviewing trademark portfolios and advising on potential risks and opportunities.
  • Assisting on oppositions and infringement matters: providing support to partners and associates on contentious trademark cases.
  • Design searches and registration: conducting research to identify existing designs and advising on registration strategies.

This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines. We encourage a balanced work environment where you can progress your career within the exciting area of trade marks.

Experience

As the successful candidate, you will be a trade marks focused professional with a minimum of three years experience working in a commercial law firm, trade mark attorney firm or specialist IP practice.
