Healthcare Professional - Transition to Practice

We are seeking newly qualified nurses to join our next intake of launching into a Professional Practice Program. This program aims to facilitate nurses in developing and enhancing their clinical skills and professional development within acute care settings.

  • Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital offers a variety of employment opportunities.

The program focuses on providing nurses with the necessary training to develop safe, person-centred care and high levels of job satisfaction. Throughout the program, nurses will complete targeted training specific to their clinical needs, competency-based assessments, and performance development meetings.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with recent completion of a Diploma in Nursing. You should also have demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment, communication skills, and evidence of recent clinical placement in an acute care setting.

  • Deliver safe and effective nursing care to patients using an individualised holistic approach.
  • Work under direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Consult with the Registered Nurse to ensure delegation is commensurate with own level of competence.
Requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse with recent completion of a Diploma in Nursing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Evidence of recent clinical placement in an acute care setting.
