Position Overview:
This role involves overseeing vendor-led penetration assessments across various Cubic client projects to fulfill contractual obligations and project specifications. The candidate will maintain up-to-date knowledge of malware threats and cybersecurity risks. Responsibilities include developing test scenarios through comprehensive technical risk analysis and typical vulnerability assessments. The individual will interpret, execute, and document testing protocols in accordance with established methods and standards, while also analyzing actions and outcomes. The role includes reviewing test findings and recommending adjustments as necessary, along with providing detailed reports on progress, irregularities, risks, and issues related to the overall project. Additionally, the candidate will report on system quality and gather metrics on test scenarios, offering specialized advice to support colleagues. This position operates under general supervision and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee information security penetration assessments for both new and existing business applications, IT infrastructure, and company products, providing expert advice on the scope of testing to ensure compliance with relevant technical security standards (e.g., ISO27001 and PCI security standards).
- Ensure that penetration assessments align with information security requirements.
- Adhere to all VM Sec Ops processes and maintain all security tools.
- Develop and manage VM Sec Ops reporting and dashboards.
- Effectively communicate tool functionalities to auditors and clients.
- Possess expert knowledge of SIEM tools and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Document all residual risks for agreement by business service owners.
- May require travel to other global Cubic locations and data centers.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., information security, computer science, engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Certification as an Information Security professional (e.g., IISP/CISA/CISM/CISSP/CCSP).
Desirable:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council certification (ISA/QSA/QSA P2PE).
- HMG IA qualifications/CLAS/CISPM.
- ITIL v4/Prince2 foundation level/TOGAF 9 certifications.
- Certifications from security and IT infrastructure/networking vendors.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience in managing penetration assessments.
- Experience supporting PCI-DSS certified solutions.
- Familiarity with secure development lifecycles (SDL).
- Strong understanding of enterprise-scale security management processes and infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure and tools (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Linux).
- Advanced knowledge of network infrastructure and protocols.
- Understanding of cryptographic services and key management systems.
- Experience with quality management systems and external audit standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Able to provide an on-call service outside of regular business hours on a rotating basis.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting architecture and compliance programs for information security and risk standards (e.g., PCI-P2PE, ISO 22301, GDPR).
- Familiarity with application security testing tools and DevOps frameworks.
- Ability to report key performance indicators demonstrating compliance within various project methodologies.
- Proficiency in development tools/environments such as Java and C#.
- Experience with payment systems, including smartcards and mobile payments.
- Knowledge of security architecture for major public cloud services.
- In-depth understanding of information security operations tools.
Personal Attributes:
- Ability to work effectively while maintaining professional standards and confidentiality with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel internationally on short notice for extended assignments.
- Strong communication skills and a capacity for rapid learning.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Employment Condition:
Successful completion of a National Police Check is required.
