Transportation Geotechnical Business Class Leader Position

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our transportation geotechnical business class. The successful candidate will represent our team in deep foundation design and construction, building relationships with business groups, and identifying and hiring staff to support strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical competencies of geotechnical staff in deep foundation design and construction.
  • Engage in alternate delivery projects, providing expertise in project approach and resource reviews.
  • Select, train, mentor, and manage geotechnical personnel.
  • Promote the geotechnical practice, establish partnerships, and advance innovative concepts.
  • Contribute to geotechnical practice and professional discipline groups, project teams, and activities.
  • Participate in geotechnical strategic planning and implementation.
  • Drive process refinement to increase technical competence, efficiency, and quality of product.
  • Function as project manager or geotechnical task lead, taking responsibility for production on projects.

Requirements

  • Active PE registration in AL, FL, MS, SC, and TN, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Proficient in geotechnical aspects of deep foundation construction and construction claim mitigation.
  • Master's degree in Engineering (Geotechnical/Geologic engineering) or equivalent level of experience.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in advanced engineering projects leading geotechnical design efforts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to complete geotechnical investigations and analyses for foundations, embankments, slopes, excavation support, and retaining structures.
  • Sufficient knowledge in both rock and soil mechanics to understand technical elements and bring advanced concept solutions.
  • Experience with geotechnical engineering software, including numerical modeling.
