We are seeking experienced Cooks to join our Home Kitchen team at our Kingston store. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking high-quality meals that meet the expectations of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality and freshness
  • Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment to achieve optimal results
  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to meet customer demand
  • Seasoning food during cooking to enhance flavors and presentation
  • Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes to create visually appealing dishes
  • Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain quality and safety standards
  • Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, gluten-free, or low-sodium options
  • May plan menus and estimate food requirements to ensure efficient inventory management
  • May train other kitchen staff and apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen environment
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware to prepare a variety of dishes
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods, including grilling, baking, boiling, and roasting
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating with colleagues to achieve common goals
  • Very good communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina to withstand the demands of a fast-paced kitchen environment
