Executive Chef

Supabarn Supermarkets presents an innovative and modern shopping experience through new store formats and a clear focus on range, freshness and service. We are expanding our hot food and ready meals range, offering our customers a quick, convenient and value for money choice of prepared meals within the store.

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our Home Kitchen team at our Kingston store.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring high-quality food products are sourced and used in cooking
• Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment to maintain optimal performance
• Preparing and cooking a wide variety of dishes to meet customer demands
• Seasoning food during cooking to enhance flavors
• Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes as required
• Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain quality
• Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options
• Maintaining accurate records of inventory, sales and waste to inform menu planning and supply chain management
• Leading a team of kitchen staff and providing guidance and support to ensure seamless operations

Requirements and Skills:

• Demonstrated experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fast-paced retail environment
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods, including grilling, baking, boiling and steaming
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
