Protect Critical Infrastructure as a Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled security specialist to safeguard critical infrastructure and sensitive data within local communities.

This role involves monitoring, assessing, and maintaining the security of council systems and networks to prevent potential threats.

About the Role:

  • Network Traffic Monitoring: Analyze network traffic to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Response: Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Vulnerability Assessments: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to strengthen system defences.
  • Security Policies: Implement and maintain effective security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Cybersecurity Standards: Ensure adherence to cybersecurity standards and relevant legislation to protect sensitive data.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams to strengthen system defences and mitigate risks.
  • Training and Awareness: Provide security training and awareness programs to internal teams to promote a culture of cybersecurity.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in cybersecurity, threat detection, and incident response.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and Essential Eight.
  • Skills: Proficiency with security tools, SIEM systems, and vulnerability management platforms.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
