Plant Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Steel Manufacturing plant in Waratah, Newcastle.

In this critical role, you will utilize your comprehensive mechanical knowledge to repair and maintain our plant and equipment, ensuring that we can produce high-quality products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and rectify equipment faults;
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities;
  • Safely execute breakdown equipment repairs;
  • Develop simple mechanical plans;
  • Capture data in CMMS (asset management software);
  • Collaborate with other trade disciplines and operators.

There are opportunities to develop on the job, including formal skills training, as well as experience in project and shutdown planning and execution.

This role offers a 7-day, 12-hour rotating lifestyle roster - maximizing your family time. Regular overtime is available.

About You

- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding;

- Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics;

- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces;

- Effective communication skills;

- Experience working in an industrial maintenance environment;

- A formal qualification in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (minimum of Certificate III);

- Understanding of reliability/engineering strategies such as condition monitoring and preventative maintenance;

- A positive can-do attitude; and

- Commitment to working safely and leading by example.

You must also have current and valid Australian working rights.
