Anaesthetist Expertise Opportunities in Adelaide

As an Anaesthetist at SA Health, you will be actively involved in teaching trainee medical officers, interns and medical students. Your participation in clinical audit and quality, safety and clinical risk management activities, as well as research and continuous medical education activities, will contribute to the delivery of high-quality care to our patients.
You will work in a diverse and expanding range of anaesthesia services to a growing population in Northern Adelaide. Our team provides a broad range of services including:
• A 24-hour emergency anaesthesia service.
• Major surgery including colorectal, upper GI, liver, urology, breast-endocrine and gynaecology.
• Major orthopaedics including arthroplasty, revision surgery and trauma.
• Busy obstetric unit with over 3000 deliveries/year and a 24-hour epidural service.
• Other surgical specialities include paediatrics, ENT, plastics, ophthalmology, ECT, gastroenterology and bronchoscopy.
• 24-hour acute pain service with daily rounds.
• Expanding development in peri-op medicine.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate. Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
Lyell McEwin Hospital – The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
