Job Summary

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrument Designer to join our team in the Northern Territory as part of our Operations APAC West business.

We deliver brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation, and technical services to the oil and gas sector, and we're looking for a talented individual to support our operations in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

The successful candidate will report directly to the I&E Design Manager and work as part of our core design team, taking ownership of discipline design commitments and requirements on a project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure deliverables are consistently checked, accurate, and presentable.
  • Provide day-to-day services to the project.
  • Take ownership of discipline design commitments and requirements on a project.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and be able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship.

Suitably qualified in Instrument Design Engineering from a recognised institution, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 8+ years of proven experience in the Oil & Gas Brownfields Engineering / EPCM sector.

Additionally, the candidate will have:

  • Relevant Certificate or suitably qualified by industry experience.
  • Experience in E3D, SPI, SPEL, and/or Navisworks Simulator is advantageous.
  • An ability to interpret and translate engineering concepts into practical designs.
  • Professional demeanour and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to both lead and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • A solutions mindset and able to manage varying tasks with often changing and competing priorities.
