Conservation Role in National Park

The Bunya Mountains National Park is a significant protected area where rainforest meets grasslands, attracting around 200,000 visitors each year. As a ranger, you will be involved in management and maintenance duties on protected areas, requiring a high level of physical fitness and awareness of the natural environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general estate development and maintenance duties such as construction and maintenance of walking tracks, fencing, and recreational facilities on protected areas.
  • Assist with law enforcement and compliance duties.
  • Operate and maintain minor plant and equipment.
  • Provide general information to park visitors and stakeholders.
  • Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people.

About the Position:

  • We are looking for an applicant who can contribute to conserving the national park's rich natural and cultural heritage.
  • You will work closely with First Nation partners and have a high degree of public contact.
  • You will be part of a team that values equity and diversity.
