Support Care Professional

This role requires a compassionate and skilled individual to provide support to residents in need of assistance with daily living tasks.

As a Support Care Professional, you will work directly with clients to identify their problems, needs, and risks. You will provide support with basic life skills building in problem areas, engage residents in services and programs, and advocate for their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and modification of resident care plans.
  • Develop and implement short-term intervention plans within program guidelines.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of intervention plans and report progress to supervisors.
  • Build rapport and trusting relationships with residents.
  • Perform wellness checks and assist with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.

Essential Skills:

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approach.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services available to residents.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with residents and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent.
  • Current BC Care Aide and Community Registration.
  • A minimum of one year recent related experience.

Benefits Package

This is a full-time position working Tuesday to Saturday. Compensation includes vacation pay, comprehensive health and dental coverage, and an employee assistance program.
