About the role

Thiess Sonoma Mine, located 10 km south of Collinsville, is seeking an experienced HV Electrician for a permanent full-time position to join our project.

As our next High Voltage Electrician, reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality solutions and results.

In this position, you will:
  • Perform servicing, repair, and maintenance of large-scale mobile mining equipment according to Thiess maintenance systems documentation.
  • Work safely and adhere to site safety, health, and management systems.
  • Complete general maintenance, breakdown repairs, services, component change-outs, and statutory electrical testing/inspections to a high standard.
  • Source technical information from reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM, and computer-based systems.
  • Conduct inspections to maximize equipment utilization.
Our requirements

To be considered, you should have:
  • Queensland Electrical Fitter Mechanic Trade Certificate with post-trade experience in the mining industry, particularly with diesel electric haul trucks such as Hitachi AC, Liebherr, Komatsu, or Cat.
  • Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 & 3007 standards.
  • Experience in high voltage equipment maintenance.
  • Experience conducting statutory testing on electrical infrastructure.
  • Statement of Attainment for HV Switching.
  • Registered cabler status is advantageous.
