Within our Rail and Technology Systems sector, we support our clients in their goals of providing safe and efficient transportation services. Our newly created position of Construction Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of all aspects of our construction activities for our QLD Rail Systems team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and stage construction work, both greenfield and brownfield in an operating railway environment.
- Interface with other management and engineering functions to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Forecast future resource requirements and assist with onboarding of new starters to maintain a skilled workforce.
- Monitor physical and financial progress of work in the construction phase and provide timely forecasts to stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, direction, supervision, and inspirational management to all team members (direct & indirect).
- Ensure construction activities are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, cost, and schedule deadlines.
- Undertake construction administration including roster management and delegate responsibilities as required.
Ideal Attributes:
- Extensive experience managing electrical construction activities on project sites within the Rail or Transport sector.
- Experience gained in the rail, signalling, train control, and other safety-critical environments is highly regarded.
- A proven ability to develop others and understand key financial indicators.
- The capacity to attract and build effective teams that drive results.
