Job Title: Wildfire Management Specialist

We are seeking an exceptional professional to lead our forest and fire operations in Victoria's state forests, national parks and protected public land. As a Forest and Fire Operations Officer – Field Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating operations and driving the success of our work groups.

About the Role:

You will have the opportunity to make a real impact on forest management and fire prevention by planning, directing and coordinating activities for emergency response and planned burning operations. Your leadership skills will be put to the test in challenging terrains as you lead field work delivery teams and drive their success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead field work delivery teams and drive their success
  • Demonstrate experience and understanding in natural resource management, preferably with good knowledge of forest management/forest operations
  • Achieve accreditation and maintain competencies in Crew Leader/Operations Officer Level 1
Requirements:
  • Current manual Driver's Licence (conditions A, I & V not acceptable for employment)
  • Ability to meet medical and fitness requirements outlined in the position description
  • Demonstrate the ability to achieve a competent result in the DEECA General Firefighter accreditation
