Job Title: Interaction Design Expert

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Interaction Design Expert to join our team at Continuum Recruitment. As an Interaction Design Expert, you will be responsible for managing the development of design concepts for digital products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects through strategy, iterations, and development by inspiring process and direction of project work.
  • Apply user-centered design/user experience design (UX) methodology to deliver enterprise outcomes and improvements to stakeholders and users.
  • Lead and advocate for user research throughout the design process.
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative user research to understand and define current and future user needs, behaviors, and preferences.
  • Plan and scope projects according to user needs, business needs, and design requirements.
  • Lead the design of assets such as user flows, prototypes, wireframes, and other assets for proof of concept and usability.
  • Lead staff undertaking rapid and iterative prototyping using agency prototyping tools.
  • Lead staff organizing, undertaking, and reporting on usability testing and validation of designs with stakeholders.
  • Develop relevant design detail requirements and documentation for stakeholder review and technical implementation to ensure successful delivery of the project.
  • Interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Lead workshops, discussions, and facilitate the design of services through collaboration with other teams.
  • Lead and ensure the continual enhancement of design systems and processes.
  • Plan and lead the evaluation of solutions to ensure stakeholder and agency requirements have been met.
  • Lead and manage staff including overseeing the management of performance, attendance, and health and safety.
  • Support and mentor staff including coaching and training to build knowledge and capability in interaction design.

Requirements:

  • Greater than 3 years' UX experience in leading the design of assets such as user flows, prototypes, wireframes, and other assets for proof of concept and usability.
  • Greater than 3 years' experience in the creation/updates and management of relevant UI design patterns, frameworks, GUI kits, and governance (including application of branding).
  • Greater than 3 years' experience in supporting and mentoring staff including coaching and training to build knowledge and capability in interaction design.

Weighted Criteria:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using UX research processes and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating, conducting, and delivering high-profile research findings or designs to a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with web design toolsets such as Adobe XD, Adobe suite, and other relevant software.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Australian Government's Digital Service Standard, WCAG AA compliance, or website governance.
  • Demonstrated examples of using a variety of prototyping methods, including an understanding of the most appropriate prototyping method for the problem to be solved.
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including with user researchers, developers, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to iterate design products and design approaches based on user research and team feedback.
