About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled software engineer to join our product engineering team. As a senior backend developer, you will play a key role in building out our platform, focusing on engineering excellence and a product-driven mindset.

Our stack includes Frontend: Vue for embeddable widgets and shopper-facing components, Angular for merchant admin, React with Shopify integrations. Backend: serverless architecture on AWS, including API Gateway for APIs, CloudFront for CDN and S3 for storage, Lambda (running Node.js) for compute, DynamoDB as primary data store, with replication into Aurora for reporting and OpenSearch for search and aggregation, SQS and SNS for queueing and messaging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing, testing, and deploying software solutions.
  • Breaking down complex tasks into manageable components.
  • Estimating task duration and managing timelines.
  • Planning and structuring code changes effectively.
  • Identifying potential impacts of solutions and key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Broad-level understanding of our system architecture.
  • Knowledge of services used within our tech stack.
  • Proficiency in product features and how they are used.
  • Basic understanding of the organization and cross-functional teams.

Skills:

  • Strong foundation in software development principles.
  • Proven ability to write clean, efficient code.
  • Proficient technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, TypeScript for full stack, VS Code as IDE, Jira for Scrum.
