Role

We are seeking an Electrician to join our team and play a vital role in the success of the Square Kilometre Array Project (SKAO). Reporting to the Village Manager, this position involves working on-site performing integrated facilities management. This will consist of preventative and reactive maintenance works on crib rooms, commercial kitchens and associated buildings on a 200 people camp.

This is a full-time permanent role, working 12 hours a day from 06:00am – 06:00pm on a 2:2 roster. The point-of-hire for this position is either Perth or Geraldton, WA to Boolardy Airstrip in South Murchinson.

You will be part of a world-first operation supporting the development and construction of the SKAO Telescopes, bringing global recognition to Australia and specifically the services provided by Ventia.

  • Diagnose and fix electrical faults and malfunctions in systems such as lighting, power outlets, and equipment
  • Address issues related to electrical panels, circuit breakers, and other electrical components
  • Respond quickly to electrical emergencies, including power outages, electrical fires, and equipment failures
  • Keep accurate records of electrical work performed, including installations, repairs, and maintenance activities
  • Work closely with other trades and camp personnel to coordinate electrical work and support overall camp operations
