About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Automation Engineer to join our Secure Network Services (SNS) team within the Technology division at Westpac Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the network architecture team, engineering, build and run teams to deliver high-performance technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Projects and Implementation
    • Deliver network transformation project initiatives, including automating traffic and routing migrations, building and enabling new strategic infrastructure.
    • Implement automated network changes required to deliver a strategic design outcome.
    • Develop and shape our automation roadmap strategically.
    • Identify manual processes with change activities and work towards a plan to convert them to automated processes.
  • Automation Expertise
    • Strong automation focus, with expertise in Python programming.
    • Experience with version control systems, including Git.
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
    • Experience with network automation frameworks, including PyATS, Ansible, Nornir, Netmiko, and ROBOT Framework.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong ownership mindset and a great attitude.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Technical Requirements
    • In-depth technical networking automation experience, with a minimum of 5 years.
    • Prior work experience in large organizations supporting complex projects, with a minimum of 5 years.
