Vehicle Body Repair Technician

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including removing damaged panels and parts, straightening vehicles and parts using mechanical and hydraulic equipment, and fitting repaired or replacement panels on vehicles.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Remove dents by hammering panels to achieve a smooth finish
  • Replace badly damaged sections with new or second-hand panels while maintaining the vehicle's original appearance
  • Filling depressions with plastic filler, and filing, grinding and sanding repaired surfaces to meet industry standards
  • Cut and join replacement sections using welding equipment, ensuring precision and quality
  • Assist vehicle body builders in constructing and restoring custom-designed, vintage and other specialty vehicles, collaborating closely with the team

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • A certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent qualification is required
  • Minimum three years' experience as a qualified Vehicle Body Repair Technician
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to the success of the project
