Heavy Diesel Technician Role

Are you a skilled professional seeking a challenging opportunity in the field of heavy diesel technology? We invite applications for an experienced Heavy Diesel Technician to join our team.

This role will see you working on various aspects of heavy diesel products, including complete repairs and maintenance. You will diagnose and repair engines, disassemble and inspect them, and clean or replace components as needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining work areas and tools, ensuring cleanliness and proper operation. Your tasks may also involve documentation, such as completing forms, time sheets, and warranty claims, as well as adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

We are looking for individuals who have completed their Certificate III in Automotive Diesel Engine Technology or possess equivalent qualifications. Previous experience in a workshop or field service environment is highly desirable. Proficiency in engine products and heavy vehicle knowledge is also essential. A valid driver's license is required, with preference given to those with HR licenses.

Beyond technical skills, we value employees who champion proactive health and safety behaviors, model exemplary behavior, and contribute to an injury-free workplace. As a Heavy Diesel Technician, you will translate customer complaints into troubleshooting plans, troubleshoot issues using mechanical and electronic service tools, and diagnose computer software to isolate failed components. Your work will ensure successful repairs and validate results by duplicating complaints to ensure they have been resolved. You will document your findings in business systems to communicate what has been done for payment and historical tracking.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in electronic service tool application, interpreting tool results or recommendations to determine next steps for service resolution. They will also interpret and analyze internal and external electrical and mechanical systems, applying tools, service publications, and taking measurements to efficiently and correctly diagnose and repair products. Additionally, they will maintain mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, disassembling and reassembling engines or power generators, inspecting and replacing parts and components, and performing progressive damage checks to restore products to pre-failure condition. Service documentation will be created and verified, capturing specific data using required service tools, following procedures, and documenting information in the service management system. The role will also require technical escalation, obtaining product technical issue information, utilizing available resources, and elevating issues to higher levels of expertise while balancing timeliness with investigation efforts. Finally, you will recognize the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to our organization.

If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities, this is an exceptional opportunity for you to develop your career and make a significant impact in the field of heavy diesel technology.
