Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pre-Sales Network Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Sales team, you will work closely with our Account Managers to provide technical support to our customers and prospects in Austria.

Your primary responsibility will be to act as a trusted advisor to our customers and prospects, identifying opportunities, gathering requirements, and designing creative solutions using Arista's Open Networking Data Centre and Cognitive Campus networking solutions, CloudVision, Security, Endpoint Security, and Real-time Fabric Monitoring.

  • Partner with Account Managers to understand customer pain points and conduct whiteboard network architectural reviews.
  • Conduct Arista product presentations for our Open Networking Data Centre and Cognitive Campus networking solutions.
  • Architect, design, and propose Arista Data Centre & Campus network solutions using leaf-spine architectures and network overlays.
  • Perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups, Data Centre and/or Campus network designs, and network deployments.
  • Put together design guidelines and recommend improvements to customers for the networks they support.
  • Partner with the Sales Team to respond to RFP/RFQs.
  • Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
  • Represent Arista at SDN and Open Networking industry events and conferences.
  • Stay up-to-date on competitive solutions, products, and services.
  • Author white papers on technology and product.
Requirements
  • BS/CS/CE technical degree required.
  • Network Industry Certification preferred (e.g. CCIE (R&S), JNCIE).
  • Minimum of 5+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience with a focus on Data Centre, Campus, and Wifi solutions.
  • Recent experience in leaf-spine architecture design.
  • Demonstrated work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer preferred.
  • Expert knowledge in Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS.
  • Good understanding of the competitor technology landscape - Cisco, Juniper.
  • Expert level knowledge of industry-standard CLI.
  • Experience with SDN and Network Function Virtualisation (NFV) highly desired.
  • Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible desired.
  • Knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services.
  • Ability to write white papers a plus.
