Job Title: Library Information Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Library Information Support Specialist to join our team in providing exceptional service to students and staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with a range of tasks including answering enquiries, maintaining collections, processing and cataloguing materials, supporting digitisation projects, and helping with resource sharing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct service to students and staff, helping them access library resources and information.
  • Assist with the acquisition and processing of new library materials, including cataloguing, managing serials, and preparing items for use.
  • Support the delivery of research skills sessions to help users find and use information effectively.
  • Supervise casual library staff and support their daily tasks.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • A relevant formal qualification with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Knowledge of the principles of library information services and a demonstrated ability to follow and interpret policies, procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the processes required to obtain scholarly information resources and to provide access to these resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply high level communication, customer service and interpersonal skills (both oral and written), and the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organisation.
