Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative software solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying software enabled systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable software enabled systems that optimize customer value delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive solutions that balance end-user needs with external constraints and requirements
  • Implement software solutions that rapidly deliver capabilities beyond current platform scope
  • Contribute to the design and development of existing software services across our organization, aiming to create reusable components across multiple product lines
  • Develop software that runs on- and off- robotic platforms using various technologies
  • Create test and simulation fixtures that operate with both software- and hardware-in-the-loop
  • SUPPORT SYSTEM DELIVERY, CONFIGURATION, TRAINING AND SUSTENANCE
  • OWN CUSTOMER SUCCESS ON ONE OR MORE CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS, IN COORDINATION WITH OUR MISSION OPERATIONS ENGINEERS AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGERS
  • WORK AS A MEMBER OF A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY DELIVERY TEAM, INCLUDING AS A MENTOR FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERS FROM DIFFERING BACKGROUNDS
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive professional experience working as a Software Engineer with one or more domains and/or technologies of expertise
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills
  • Systems and/or application programming skills including algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software design, and system design
  • Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems
  • Capacity to work holistically on software enabled capabilities up and down the software stack and through lifecycle through design, implementation, operation, and sustainment
  • Capacity to act as the technical owner for the delivery of a mixed hardware/software system, including stakeholder engagement, scoping, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, and sustainment
  • Capacity to learn and grow individually, while mentoring junior team members effectively, building team cohesion and capacity
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience writing backend services or embedded software in C++ and/or Go
  • Experience writing frontend applications using Typescript and React
  • Experience with the design, implementation, and operation of horizontally scaled cloud technologies
  • Experience with the design, implementation, and support of embedded software, particularly in the field of robotics
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts
  • Desire to learn and grow into other roles that require experience as a Senior Software Engineer, such as Principal Software Engineer and/or Engineering Manager
