Job Summary

The Motor Fleet Underwriter role involves writing medium to complex risks within the company's risk appetite and individual underwriting authority.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the execution of the underwriting strategy for the Class of Business, working within the agreed risk appetite and own individual authority to process quotes, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and cancellations.
  • Provide input to the development of our underwriting appetite for our product(s).
  • Assist in the management of portfolio performance through the analysis of results and making recommendations.
  • Work with operational leadership teams and technical training teams to identify training needs and support employee development through feedback, coaching, and training.
  • Act as the first line of defense and adhere to a zero-tolerance fraud strategy.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience include:

  • Technical expertise and commercial judgment to fulfill their role.
  • Good commercial awareness to identify market opportunities.
  • Possessing pricing practices and methodologies, with experience to enhance pricing capability.
  • Highly articulate and numerate, with interpersonal skills to build relationships.
