Job Description

As a Warehouse Team Lead with Bega Cheese Group, you will play a key role in managing the warehouse operations in Canberra. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the growth of The Great Australian Food Company.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Team Lead to join our team in Canberra. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the route picking operations, ensuring safety, service, productivity, cost, and transport efficiency. This includes managing 3PL providers and logistics warehousing and distribution operations.

The Warehouse Team Lead will identify opportunities to develop their people and continuously improve operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, experience in working with teams, and the ability to think under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Becoming a high-performance team member through coaching, engagement, and effective communication.
  • Ensuring compliance with national and site safety systems, procedures, and policies.
  • Managing staff issues including absenteeism and performance levels.
  • Controlling staff rosters and workload to meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Maintaining the timely despatch of products to meet customer order requested delivery dates and time windows to support and improve the achievement of the 'On Time' component of DIFOT.
  • Ensuring coordination of warehousing and transportation resource requirements including labour and fleet to achieve daily despatch and inbound schedule.
  • Driving continuous improvement across the warehouse to deliver improvements in Safety, Quality, Cost, and Efficiency through use of BEX (Bega Excellence) and Lean principles.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Hands-on leadership experience and ideally working in a FMCG Supply Chain or fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think under pressure.
  • Able to thrive in a busy environment and can focus on a number of tasks simultaneously.
  • Forklift license desirable.
  • Extensive computer skills – Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook knowledge.
  • Proven experience in using SAP is an advantage.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package ranging from $85,000 to $110,000 per annum, depending on your experience. Additionally, you will receive excellent employee benefits, including flexible working arrangements, purchased leave options, and salary continuance insurance.
