About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our team at Macquarie University Hospital, as part of MQ Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality food preparation and service while supporting a busy kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare food for patients, visitors, and staff in an appealing, timely, and hospitable manner
  • Communicate operational needs to the Executive Chef to successfully and effectively carry out the role of a Chef
  • Adhere to all MQ Health values, policies, and procedures as well as legislation affecting food hygiene and cleanliness standards HACCP
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work positively within a team to achieve team goals and the provision of excellence in service delivery
  • Ensure that all documentation is accurate and completed in a professional and timely manner and in accordance with MQ Health Policy
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Hotel Services Director

Requirements
  • Appropriate trade qualification (e.g., Cert IV in Commercial Cookery)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a hospital cooking setting
  • Experience with a delegate patient ordering system
  • A thorough understanding of the HACCP program and service delivery model
  • Passion for excellence in customer service with a strong eye for detail
  • High degree of reliability and punctuality
  • Impeccable presentation and hygiene
  • Flexible and available to work across multiple shifts on weekdays and weekends
