Production and Performance Lead Engineer

Job Summary:

The Lead Production and Performance Engineer is a newly created role based at our Cockburn Power Station site with regular visits to other Synergy sites. This position is responsible for providing management, supervision, and leadership to direct reports and other team members within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing plant operating data and forecasts production targets to determine asset outage plans in coordination with other business functions and stakeholders.
  • Reviewing performance data from operating plant and communicating findings with stakeholders and business unit customers.
  • Using innovative techniques in data gathering and analysis and working in collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement in processes, systems, and deliverables.
  • Managing and ensuring compliance with statutory and plant performance requirements, generator performance plans, Wholesale Electricity Market rules, and other regulations and legal policies relevant to the business.
  • Contributing to maximizing plant performance and reliability and providing technical direction, support, and decisions in power station emergencies in collaboration with the site operators in matters related to outage management and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in a relevant field such as electrical, mechanical, process, or software engineering.
  • Current WA motor vehicle driver's license endorsed Class C.
  • 15+ years' experience in power generation or in the energy and resources industry, including 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of power station safety systems, policies, and practices and versed in economic and statistical analysis principles and modeling techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Energy Market Regulatory Framework and related Government policies and broad experience in data management, analysis, and systems.
