Murray Business Solutions is seeking a passionate and skilled Transactional Accountant to join our friendly team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and accurate management of client bookkeeping, BAS, and payroll.

You will work closely with accountants and senior team members to ensure financial data is accurate and well-organised, supporting management reporting and CFO-level advice.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing client bookkeeping, reconciliations, and reporting exclusively using Xero
  • Preparing and lodging Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • Processing payroll and ensuring ATO compliance
  • Working closely with tax accountants, business advisory accountants, and administrative staff to ensure smooth financial operations

About You

  • A minimum 3+ years experience in a bookkeeping or transactional accounting role
  • Xero expertise (certification preferred) and a strong understanding of cloud-based accounting within the Xero ecosystem
  • Prior experience in BAS preparation, payroll processing, and financial reconciliations to trial balance
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple clients and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality work
