Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct aquaculture activities and ensure quality assurance and quality control
  • Develop novel techniques and frameworks to minimize genetic diversity loss of aquaculture organisms
  • Support rapid decision making for aquaculture-based restoration by developing workflows from sample collection, sample processing, data collection, and data processing
  • Work closely with stakeholders to support the development of DNA-based tools for the rapid detection of pests and pathogenic microbes under aquarium conditions

Requirements

  • PhD in Marine Biology or a related field
  • Extensive experience in genetic and genomic analyses, molecular work, bioinformatics, and data analysis using massive parallel sequencing
  • Demonstrated experience with sexual reproduction and aquaculture practices, preferably the reproduction of corals
  • Project management skills
