Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at UGL. As a key member of our Major Projects division, you will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical systems for our accommodation units.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules to ensure timely completion of all mechanical installations.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure alignment with project specifications and goals.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control audits to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and construction teams, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize project disruptions.
- Manage project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring cost-effective delivery of mechanical components.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, design specifications, and compliance records.
- Degree qualification to Bachelor status in Mechanical Engineering (IE Aust recognised).
- At least 10 years' experience in hands-on mechanical engineering from concept to completion as a design engineer with full understanding of local construction methodologies throughout all areas of residential development.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Have a strong understanding of Building Codes, utilities requirements and building services to be implemented in residential buildings.
- Experience working on large accommodation villages made up of modular buildings or similar types of projects.
- Australian driver's license.
