Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Flavor Technologist to join our team in Oceania. As a key member of our flavor application team, you will be responsible for developing and managing our sweet and beverage flavor portfolio. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving commercial success and delivering high-quality products to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage our sweet and beverage flavor portfolio, including formulation and application of new products and modification of existing ones.
- Conduct sensory evaluation and maintain our flavor portfolio library to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
- Act as the key direct technical contact for our clients, building strong partnerships and delivering total finished product solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select functional raw materials and other ingredients, staying up-to-date on new technologies and trends.
- Continually research and upgrade your technical expertise to stay current on consumer and market trends.
- Assist in the coordination of launches and scale-up of new products, including trials.
- Provide training to technical and commercial teams on Symrise flavor language and portfolio management.
- Selection of winning flavors from our standard library to fulfill customer requests.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the industrial food, pharmaceutical, ingredients, or flavor industry, with a focus on sweet, bakery, confectionery, dairy, and/or beverage-related disciplines.
- Additional expertise in alcoholic beverages is preferred.
- Strong expertise in sensory evaluation, technical knowledge, and application recipe design and creation.
- Good knowledge of recipe ingredients, raw materials, and their function for flavor application.
- Good knowledge of Food Standards Code (FSANZ).
- Strong passion for food ingredients and flavor portfolios.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suites.
- A strong team player, independent, driven, and highly agile, accountable, creative, and innovative.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to accept temporary placements in other locations for project or training needs.
