We are currently seeking an experienced academic to take on a four-year fixed-term appointment as a Lecturer in Philosophy at Macquarie University.

Key Responsibilities
  • The successful applicant will be expected to contribute significantly to the teaching of philosophy courses, including those in the areas of philosophy of science, mind, and metaphysics.
  • They will also be required to develop new teaching materials focused on empirically-oriented approaches to consciousness.
  • Additionally, they will supervise MRes and PhD students in Philosophy, providing guidance and support throughout their research projects.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a PhD in Philosophy and a strong established research track record. They should also have experience in undergraduate teaching and the ability to collaborate effectively with other teachers and researchers.

Applicants with a proven ability to communicate complex philosophical concepts in an engaging and accessible manner are highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
