We are seeking an academic with expertise in philosophy to join our department as a lecturer. This is a four year fixed-term position that offers the opportunity to contribute to teaching, research and university service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach and develop curriculum for undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy, particularly in the areas of mind, meaning and metaphysics.
- Conduct research and publish high-quality peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals.
- Supervise MRes and PhD students and mentor early career researchers.
- Collaborate with other academics and researchers to advance the department's research agenda.
- Participate in university service activities, such as committee work and outreach programs.
Requirements:
- A PhD in Philosophy by the time of appointment.
- An established research track record of high quality peer reviewed publications.
- Demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching and supervision of postgraduate students.
- Potential to apply for research grants from national and international research bodies.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in a pluralist department.
