We are seeking an academic with expertise in philosophy to join our department as a lecturer. This is a four year fixed-term position that offers the opportunity to contribute to teaching, research and university service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Teach and develop curriculum for undergraduate and graduate courses in philosophy, particularly in the areas of mind, meaning and metaphysics.
  2. Conduct research and publish high-quality peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals.
  3. Supervise MRes and PhD students and mentor early career researchers.
  4. Collaborate with other academics and researchers to advance the department's research agenda.
  5. Participate in university service activities, such as committee work and outreach programs.

Requirements:

  • A PhD in Philosophy by the time of appointment.
  • An established research track record of high quality peer reviewed publications.
  • Demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching and supervision of postgraduate students.
  • Potential to apply for research grants from national and international research bodies.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively in a pluralist department.
